Writer X is an online journal featuring writing that demonstrates originality, intelligence, courage, (at times) irreverence, and humanity. This space was created to foster a sense of community at Malcolm X College and to encourage and motivate participants to meet their writing goals. Here, we are presenting the best works of our creative students, faculty, and staff.
The Spring 2017 Edition kicks off with the Annual Black History Month Essay Contest. We are pleased to announce that this year’s winning submission came from Jessica Williams. This edition features her essay, “Reflection in the Mirror: Fabricated Images (Part One).” Also included in this edition are the winners of our annual poetry contest in celebration of National Poetry Month. Congratulations are in order for student winner, Tamara Cosey and her poem, “Rules to Being Ladylike,” and faculty winner, Professor Ivor Irwin and his creative poem, “Dr. Cumulostratus.” Please like and share your favorite entries with others and be inspired to…WRITE.
